Q: People keep telling me that AI will allow me to cut a significant portion of my staff to save money, and I agree, but I don’t have the stomach to do it. What’s your advice?

A: I’m not sure I agree with the premise that AI will allow you to make wholesale cuts to your staff. What you can use AI for initially is to see if it can be a good watermark and find out who on your staff can leverage it to increase productivity. However, qualities like loyalty and dedication can’t be found in AI and those are qualities that shouldn’t be discounted. All companies are reviewing their operations to see if AI can help cut costs, but I don’t think it’s a magic wand to make your staff disappear. As I said, find those employees who can adopt AI in their tasks to make your process more efficient and streamlined and use it as a tool to enhance your staff, not replace them.
